ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

Ministry Assistant / Editor

If you have a love for Jesus and want to help this ministry further His kingdom through bible literacy and media outreach, you are in the right place. Work directly with Patricia Holbrook, President and founder of Soaring with Him Ministries. A cool perk of this position is that you will be Patricia’s companion when she covers Red Carpet and other movie release events for her AJC column.

Responsibilities

  • Organize Patricia’s writings from the website in Word or Pages for Patricia’s books.
  • Gatekeeper for the blog, podcast interviews, and appointment calendars.
  • Book interviews and schedule Zoom calls.
  • Liaison between churches/organizations and Patricia for all speaking engagements.
  • Travel arrangements for speaking engagements.
  • Work one-on-one with community writers, companies, and other volunteer ministry staff.
  • Upload and schedule blog posts on WordPress (we will train).
  • Edit/schedule the monthly newsletter for the ministry.
  • Assist in the implementation of new initiatives created by the ministry, including local outreach.
  • Edit conference posters and programs on Canva (will train).
  • Assist as co-program manager for the yearly She Soars Women’s Conference.  Work with the participants and venue staff to ensure smooth transitions and a timely conference. This task will be shared between the Ministry Assistant and the She Soars Conference Project Manager.
  • Make phone calls and talk with sponsors on behalf of Soaring with Him Ministries to acquire their logos and other information for conference programs and Impact Reports.
  • Order bibles/food for Love Day.
  • Order food for the conference.

Requirements:  This is a high-profile position, so professionalism is a must.  Written and verbal communication skills are essential.  3 years of administrative experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential. We will train on WordPress. Highly organized, congenial, and the ability to work with a broad range of personalities.

10-15 hours/week, depending on work volume. Workload increases during conference periods and bible study launches.  Perfect for working mothers, veterans, empty nesters, or retirees.  Get back into the workforce or change your occupation through this fantastic opportunity.

Social Media Administrator

Looking for a special person who loves the Lord and enjoys sharing His Truth with the world through social media!  Your goal is to expand blog readership and encourage interaction and communication with followers.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing and managing a social media calendar.
  • Creating graphics and editing Patricia’s weekly reels for IG and FB.
  • Planning social media posts on our social media planning platform.
  • Interaction with the public about our content, other author’s content, as well as events through posts and comments on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn.

Requirements

  • Experience creating and interacting on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, Messenger, and Facebook. We will train you on using our Social Media scheduler platform.
  • You need to be team-oriented, energetic, organized, and conversational!!

10 hours per week, M-F.  Because of the scheduling platform, you can schedule your working hours at your convenience! Perfect for mothers coming back to the workforce, retirees. You may also be current college student needing an internship!

Video and Audio Editor

Would you like to expand God’s kingdom and get God’s Word out to thousands?  If the answer is yes, we would love to have you volunteer for our non-profit!  Great opportunity for college students or videographers looking to expand their portfolio. This is initially a volunteer position, but we will pay for longer projects, such as promo videos.

Responsibilities

  • Edit Bible study videos and interviews for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s columnist and published Author, Patricia Holbrook.  Interviews will be with prominent people within the community and some renowned Christian leaders.
  • Edit Patricia’s podcast and upload it with copywriting to our podcast service provider (posting on all platforms are automatic from the service we use).

Requirements

  • Experience with video/audio editing. We will train and provide templates that will make the video and podcast editing fast once you do it once or twice.
  • Knowledge of posting on YouTube/Podcast platforms and copywriting for the interviews.

5-7 hours a week.

Fundraising Manager

We need an energetic go-getter with a natural sales ability to work with individuals and companies in the greater Atlanta area to secure financial partnerships for our ministry programs:

  • LOVE DAY, our women’s shelter ministry outreach.
  • Free bible and study Bible distribution.
  • Free admission to women in shelters to our annual women’s conference.
  • Funds to promote our podcast, YouTube channel, etc.
  • General ministry funds.

Responsibilities

  • We will work towards a financial goal established by the ministry to fund its activities.
  • Compile a list of potential donors and company sponsors.
  • Set up in-person/Zoom meetings with potential donors (ministry will provide training).

Requirements

  • A love for God’s Kingdom and a desire to witness women be set free from bondage and defeat.
  • A willingness to ask people to partner with God in what He is doing through our ministry.
  • A car (the ministry will reimburse mileage expenses).

Bookkeeper

Seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeper.  This Volunteer position would require you to produce and keep current monthly account receivables, payables, quarterly reports, and an EOY statement/annual report.   We utilize Quick Books for your convenience!  As the bookkeeper, you would report directly to the CFO.

Hourly work is flexible and only at certain times of the month/year.

Advancement Officer

SHE SOARS CONFERENCE & LOVE DAY SHELTER MINISTRY

LOVE DAY and SHE SOARS Project Managers

These positions can be help by one or two people (one for each program)

LOVE DAY 

is a Saturday every quarter when Soaring with Him Ministries will visit shelters with volunteers to bring the hope and love of Jesus to the women and children in transitional homes.

SHE SOARS 

is our Women’s conference with three main speakers, a worship leader and three speakers for workshops. We partner with local churches for a day of study of God’s Word and worship. 

We seek leaders who can project-manage these events.

Responsibilities

  • Create a task timeline and action items (with Patricia’s input from past conferences).
  • Set up and lead meetings with volunteers.
  • Meet with church volunteers to review the volunteer manual and tasks.
  • Liaison between the church and shelters for all communications and expectations.

Conference:

  • Periodically review registrations and update the database.
  • Communicate with scholarship applicants.
  • Obtain and communicate all information/requirements from vendors.
  • Obtain vendor/speaker information for the program.
  • Manage volunteers and ensure that they understand their responsibilities.
  • Work with the conference manager to put together the “day of” conference timeline and ensure the program runs on time.
  • Obtain all information from speakers for the program and their requirements (product table, special diet, etc).
  • Ensure that all space requirements are met at the host church (breakout sessions, prayer room, lunch room, if applicable.)
  • Work together with Ministry Assistant to ensure that everything needed for the conference is ordered in advance.
  • Obtain conference outreach results for Soaring with Him’s Impact Report.

LOVE DAY:

  • Liaison between shelters and Soaring with Him.
  • Create a database of shelters and schedule LOVE DAY dates for all year.
  • Create a database of volunteers and obtain all volunteer forms.
  • Find out how many women and children we will serve to ensure we order enough bibles and food.
  • Ensure that hairdressers and makeup artists have the space necessary at the shelters.
  • Schedule volunteer meetings to explain all expectations and answer questions.
  • Work with Advancement Officer to ensure we have the funds for each LOVE DAY.
  • Work with Ministry Assistant to ensure that everything needed for LOVE DAY is ordered.
  • Obtain shelter outreach results for Soaring with Him’s Impact Report.

Requirements

  • A love for God’s Kingdom and a desire to witness women be set free from bondage and defeat.
  • Loving person, willing to work with different types of personalities.
  • Detailed oriented and organized.
  • Project management experience.

Time commitment will depend on the time of the year. As the conference or LOVE DAY approaches, more time will be dedicated to the job. This is a perfect job for a retired woman who wants to continue to impact others and God’s Kingdom with her gifts and talents!

LOVE DAY Hairdressers

Requirements

  • Licensed hairdressers.
  • Basic Equipment to perform haircuts for women in the shelters we serve.
  • Available on one to two Saturdays a year.

LOVE DAY Outreach Volunteer

  • Calling on women with a heart for women in shelters to join us and “adopt a sister” for Love Day. You will be assigned a lady in the shelter and will be her companion for Love Day, pray with her, help her with the content of the “How to Study the Bible workshop” and show her the love of Christ.
